Our Story
Airwave Coffee Roasters started as a whimsical experiment in a garage, where Mike & his wife Jess, fueled by creativity and caffeine, thought, “What if coffee could be more than just a drink? What if it could tell a story, or maybe even play the guitar?” Together, with a dream, a slightly overused coffee roaster, and a playlist that was 80% Punk Rock, Airwave was born. Jess, with her knack for design & style and Mike with his passion for the perfect roast, turned their garage into the birthplace of something special. We’ve since graduated from the garage to a cozy little shop, but the spirit of experimentation? That’s still brewing as strong as our Ethiopian blend.
Our Philosophy
- Sustainability: We’re not just roasting beans; we’re saving the planet, one coffee ground at a time. Our beans are ethically sourced, which means we pay farmers fairly.
- Innovation: Ever heard of coffee brewed with sound waves? No? Well, neither have we, but we’re working on it. Until then, our traditional methods are pushed to the edge of what coffee science knows, which isn’t much, but we do it with flair.
- Community: Airwave isn’t just about coffee; it’s about the people who drink it.
What We Offer
- Hand-Roasted Beans: Because if robots were roasting our beans, they’d probably unionize by now. We do it by hand, with love, and sometimes, a bit of accidental smoke signal communication.
- Unique Blends: The Doge Van Blend. “So good you will want to live in your van down by the river”
- Education: Want to know how to brew coffee at home? We offer how to videos where you might not leave a coffee expert, but you’ll definitely leave with some amusing anecdotes.
Why Airwave?
In a world where coffee chains are as common as bad decisions, Airwave stands out like a lone tree in a desert, except this tree serves fantastic coffee. We’re not just another place to get your caffeine fix; we’re a lifestyle, a choice, and sometimes, a mild form of rebellion against the mundane.
